Nancy Boykin Collection

Biography

Nancy Bickelhaupt was born in South Bend, Indiana in 1930. She attended Michigan State College from 1948 to 1950. She graduated from the Johns Hopkins Hospital School of Nursing in 1953 and received the Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Johns Hopkins University, McCoy College in 1954. In 1953 she married William A. Boykin III.

Scope and Content

The Nancy Boykin Collection consists of her nursing diploma and a scrapbook containing personal correspondence, photos, news clippings, student and patient notes. The collection provides a unique view of life as a student in the Johns Hopkins Hospital School of Nursing and events around Baltimore during the 1950s.
