Marie A. Gorter Collection

Biography

Marie A. Gorter was born in Baltimore, Maryland. She received her nursing diploma in 1897 from the Johns Hopkins Hospital Training School for Nurses. She worked at Cambridge Hospital, and later as a school nurse in the Baltimore Public School system. Her work focused on public health in rural communities and on health education.
