Biography

Lloyd W. Ketron was born in Bloomingdale, Tennessee. He received his A.B. in 1907 from U. S. Grant University and his M.D. in 1911 from the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. After graduate study in Europe, he returned to the school of medicine in 1914 as a faculty member in dermatology. In 1928, Ketron was named dermatologist-in-charge of the Johns Hopkins Hospital. His interest was in experimental dermatology, and in 1956 an annual lecture in dermatology was established in his honor at Johns Hopkins.

The Lloyd W. Ketron Collection consists of a bound edition of Ketron’s reprints from 1913 to 1937.
