Biography

Katherine Good Amberson was born in Waynesboro, Pennsylvania. After graduating from the Johns Hopkins Hospital Training School for Nurses in 1919, she went on to recieve both a Baccalaureate and a Master’s degree from Columbia University in Administration in Schools of Nursing. She held the position of Department Head for Medical and Surgical Nursing at the New York Hospital in New York City.

Scope and Content

The Katherine Good Amberson Collection consists of 5 of her student notebooks. Topics include Materia Medica, Practical Nursing, Dietetics, Surgery and Orthopedic Surgery, Hygiene and Bacteriology, Internal Medicine, Constitutional Disease, and Pediatrics.
