Biography

Herbert S. Hurwitz graduated from Harvard University with an A.B. and from the Yale University Medical School in 1954. Hurwitz was a pediatric intern and assistant resident at the Harriet Lane Home at Johns Hopkins Hospital from 1954-1956. He later moved to White Plains, New York to establish a pediatric practice.

Scope and Content

The Herbert S. Hurwitz collection consists of clinical patient notes, physician guidelines, housestaff conference material, directories and Johns Hopkins ephemera. The Harriet Lane History Meetings from 1954-1955 are of particular interest.
