The Charlotte Abrisch Collection consists of one small black pocket six ring binder notebook which outlines the particular needs of specific surgeons in the Johns Hopkins Hospital operating room circa 1940’s. The book is tabbed with the following surgeons: Alfred Blalock, Walter Dandy and Hugh Hampton Young plus a section for Resident Surgery. The first page lists the seven qualities of a good operating room nurse. The back pages contain notes from when Abrisch was a student in 1936 covering topics such as state registration, first aid, and venereal diseases.
