Benjamin H. Klotz was born in Washington County, Maryland. He graduated with a B.A. from the Johns Hopkins University in 1922. He received his M.D. from Yale University in 1926. Returning to Baltimore, Klotz served his internship in gynecology at Johns Hopkins Hospital under Thomas Cullen. He finished his residency in surgery at Sinai Hospital. Klotz opened a private practice in Baltimore City from which he retired in 1981. Sinai Hospital recognized his 51 years of service on their medical staff in November, 1981.
The Benjamin H. Klotz collection consists of personal and patient material as well as photographs. Of particular interest are photographs of the old and new Johns Hopkins Hospital gynecology operating rooms and the gynecology staff from the period 1926 to 1927.
