Gertrude Armstrong (nee Zoellner) was born in New York City, New York. She received a nursing diploma from Church Home and Hospital in 1949. She married James Peter Armstrong. She was an active member of the Alumni Association of Church Home and Hospital School of Nursing helping to organize many reunions including her 50th class reunion in 1999.
The Gertrude Z. Armstrong Collection consists of photos, clippings, newsletters, directories of 1949 class members, and a history of The Church Home and Infirmary published in 1915 and written by Dr. Thomas S. Cullen who was Chairman of the Medical Committee. Artifacts include pins and a needlepoint of the Church Home dome.
