Biography

Wanda Mallalieu was born in New York City in 1904. She attended the University of Akron in Akron, Ohio before coming to Baltimore in 1924. She graduated from the Johns Hopkins Hospital Training School for Nurses in 1927. From 1929 to 1936 she worked for the Johns Hopkins Hospital as a Special Duty nurse. In 1930 she married Fred W. Geib, a graduate of the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and a Hopkins physician. Although she retired from active nursing service in 1936, she continued doing volunteer work in Rochester, NY. In 1948 she served as superviosr of volunteers at Rochester General Hospital.

Scope and Content

The Wanda Mallalieu Collection consists of a poem written by Mallalieu and a pin inscribed “Humanitate Ministro.”
