Biography

Edna Knowlton was born in DeLand, Florida in 1905. She received a B.S. from Flora McDonald College in North Carolina. After her graduation from the Johns Hopkins Hospital Training School for Nurses in 1931, she completed graduate courses in public health nursing, mental hygiene and anatomy from Fordham University and Columbia University. In 1949 she received a Physical Therapy certificate from New York University. In 1950 she accepted a position of Physical Therapist for the Florida Crippled Children’s Commission.

Scope and Content

The Edna Knowlton Collection consists of photographs of Edna Knowlton from infancy to adulthood, including several in DeLand, Florida.
