Biography

Ruth Tedford was born in Glens Falls, New York in 1906. She graduated from the Johns Hopkins Hospital Training School for Nurses in 1929. In 1933 she received a certificate in Public Health Nursing from Simmons School in Boston. From 1936 to 1944 she held the position of District Supervisor for the Visiting Nurse Association first in Maine and then in Boston. In 1945 she married Harry Leroy Hadley. She remained active doing volunteer work for the American Red Cross.

Scope and Content

The Ruth Tedford Hadley Collection consists of a nursing doll and correspondence with the Johns Hopkins Nuses’ Alumni Association.
