Biography

Rebecca Vaughan Graham Catlin was born in Goshen, Virginia in 1924. She graduated from Goshen High School in 1942 and attended Farmville State Teachers College for a year and a half while taking pre-nursing courses. Rebecca graduated from the Johns Hopkins Hospital School of Nursing in 1947. She married Dr. Francis Irving Catlin, a doctor at Johns Hopkins Hospital, in 1948. She worked as an operating room nurse at King’s Daughters’ Hospital in Staunton, Virginia from 1947 to 1948, as a public health nurse for the Baltimore City Health Department from 1948 to 1950, and as a pediatric clinic nurse at Bolling Air Force Base in Washington D.C. in 1951. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and a member of the Altar Guild at her church. Rebecca Graham Catlin died in Houston, Texas in 2008.
