Biography

Freda Creutzburg received her nursing diploma in 1921 from the Church Home and Infirmary School of Nursing. She also studied at the McCoy College of Johns Hopkins University. She served as president of the Church Home and Hospital School of Nursing Alumni Association in 1935 and from 1947-1950. She was superintendent of the Church Home and Hospital School of Nursing from 1955 to 1963. Under her direction, the school was accredited by the National League for Nursing in 1959. In 1965 a new recreation room in the nurses’ residencence was dedicated in her name, along with a portrait presented by the Alumni Association.

Scope and Content

The Freda Creutzburg Collection consists of her America Red Cross nursing service card and her portrait.
