Philip Hopkins

1806-1844

Hopkins, a younger brother of Mr. Johns Hopkins, was born in Anne Arundel County, Maryland. He later joined the firm of Hopkins and Brothers Wholesalers where he served as a salesman. In 1844 at the age of thirty-six, he contracted typhoid fever and died in Havana, Cuba.  His death and the earlier deaths of Hopkins’ other two brothers caused the dissolution of the firm which had begun in 1819.
