Freda Lewis Creutzburg

Creutzburg received her nursing diploma in 1921 from the Church Home and Infirmary School of Nursing. She also studied at the McCoy College of Johns Hopkins University.
Creutzburg served as president of the Church Home and Hospital School of Nursing Alumni Association in 1935 and from 1947-1950. She was superintendent of the Church Home and Hospital School of Nursing from 1955 to 1963.
Under her direction, the school was accredited by the National League for Nursing in 1959. In 1965, a new recreation room in the nurses’ residence was dedicated in her name, along with a portrait presented by the Alumni Association.
In 2004, the Church Home and Hospital School of Nursing Alumni Association presented $100,000 to the Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing to establish the Freda Creutzburg Memorial Scholarship.
