Dean L. Paules

Paules was born in Shrewsbury, Pennsylvania and was a graduate of the Rehrig School of Electronics. Although he worked at his family’s Crescent Industries, Inc. in New Freedom, which produced plastic injection components, he maintained a long-standing interest in art.

Primarily self-taught, Paules started out painting landscapes, then in the mid-1980s, shifted his focus to portraiture. His subjects included Nobel laureate George Hitchings, Ph.D.; General Richard Ellis, Commander in Chief of Strategic Air Command; David Johnson, CEO, Campbell Soup; Sean O’Keaffe, Head of NASA; and General Conway, Commandant of the United States Marines Corps.
