Biography Charlotte Ferencz was born in Budapest, Hungary. She received her B.S. in 1944 and her M.D. in 1945, both from McGill University. After serving as a fellow in pediatrics at the Johns Hopkins Hospital from 1949 to 1951, she received her diploma in pediatrics from McGill University. Ferencz joined the faculty of the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in pediatric cardiology in 1954, serving as director of the rheumatic fever clinic until 1958. In 1970, she received her M.P.H. from the Johns Hopkins University School of Hygiene and Public Health. In 1973, she joined the faculty of the University of Maryland in the departments of epidemiology, preventive medicine, and pediatrics. |

Scope and Content The Charlotte Ferencz Collection consists of correspondence between Ferencz and Helen B. Taussig.
