Collecting Policy
The Archives collects and preserves materials relating to the history of the following institutions and individuals associated with them, for the purpose of advancing the defined missions of research, health care delivery, education and training:
- Johns Hopkins Hospital
- Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine
- Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing
- Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health
Scope of Holdings
Dates of materials in the Medical Archives range from the middle of the nineteenth century to the present.
The Archives collects and preserves the following types of materials, in both digital and hard-copy formats:
- Records of governance and administration
- Student records
- Correspondence, scrapbooks, diaries
- Notebooks
- Laboratory records
- Architectural records
- Photographs and film
- Oral histories
- Artifacts, equipment and instrumentation
