Application for Access to Information Protected by Privacy Codes and Johns Hopkins' Policies
Legal and regulatory codes for protection of individual privacy as well as Johns Hopkins privacy policy limit access to certain types of individually identifiable information in collections held by the Medical Archives. However, these codes and Johns Hopkins privacy policy do include provisions for certain types of authorized access to types of information within the collections. Applications may be submitted to obtain authorization to access these collections. They are reviewed and adjudicated in accordance with applicable legal and regulatory codes and Johns Hopkins policy.

Privacy Board and Institutional Review Boards
The Privacy Board of the Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions oversees archival policy and procedures for review and adjudication of applications for research of collections that contain identifiable health, student, and personnel information. The IRBs of Johns Hopkins oversee archival policy and procedures for review and adjudication of applications for research of collections that contain individually identifiable human subject information.
