161 Photo Albums Presented to Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions,
circa 1890-1901 This collection of photograph albums contains significant
historical evidence of the history of research, teaching and patient
care at The Johns Hopkins Hospital and The Johns Hopkins University
School of Medicine. The years documenting the mid and early twentieth
century are especially valuable in terms of images featuring faculty,
staff, and students at work; at the bedside, on rounds, in the office,
in the operating room, and conducting research in the laboratory. The
images also provide evidence of nursing activities and patient care.
In addition there are albums including class photos, departmental
photographs, and special subject presentation albums given to
individuals at the medical institutions. In addition to this
collection of albums, other albums of a more personal nature, or
relating more to one individual, are generally found within the
archives personal paper collections. Box
